Small interface choices that matter (on/off switch)

It is always interesting to me when there is a certain feature that I look for, but rarely find on a product.

For example, I was looking for a new wireless mouse last week (my last one just broke). Sure, I cared about the feel, button layout, whether it was a small USB dongle or a huge ball that you plugged into the computer etc…

But, one of the features that I really wanted, was to be able to have a switch on the mouse to turn it off. I want this feature, as without it, my mouse bounces around in the bag, which turns it on, and wears out the damn batteries! I never remember to take one battery out etc, so it becomes a real pain.

Now, with the Logitech series mouse that I got, I simply switch it ‘off’ and my mouse doesn’t get to provide a small light show to my other components hanging out in my laptop bag.
