Wisconsin Public Radio has put together a great mini-series called Electrons to Enlightenment where they explore the relationship, or lack of, between science and religion:
- Science vs. Religion: Can Science ever be reconciled with Religion?
- The Cosmos: How did the Universe begin?
- The Brain and Belief: Can Science prove there is a biology of belief?
- Debating Darwin: Can you believe in God if you accept Evolution?
- Awe and Wonder: Where can you touch the fabric of mystery?
This is a great series, and is something we should be exploring all the time. It isn’t taboo. They got views from all sides, and some that seem to bridge them in interesting ways.
Kudos to WPR. Hopefully we will move closer together to explore these questions, instead of getting more polarized.

Thanks, Dion … looks like a great series, and I look forward to listening to it over the next few days.
Coincidentally, this came onto my radar today, and it also originates in Wisconsin. :-) It deals more with the history of the relationship between religion and science.
I strongly believe that religion and science need not be in conflict, and part of my reason for that belief is that through most of history they haven’t been. Most of the people (on both sides) that think the two are irreconcilable *today* seem to be misinformed about the relationship between the two in the past.
