I saw that last night too and my first thought was why can't they just play the original UK version? Is it a fear that the US audience won't understand some of the jokes?

I bought a DVD of an Australian comedy called "The Castle" from Amazon. Only to find some of the Aussie words have been dubbed over with the US equivilant so the jokes could be understand by the American audience!
