DLNA is similar (at least to my understanding), is an "industry standard" and not Apple-centric. Seems once people are in the walled gardens they get ignorant. Sorry for the rant but could you please be a bit more open to other stuff than Apple who always cook their own soup, luckily not always succeding (Firewire => USB, MiniHDMI - why another connector?!, Thunderbold => USB3, and lots of other stuff).
