Use my friends of friends": we are currently experimenting with an project called feeddo which attempts to do exactly this - by extending Google Reader. Beyond the sarcasm, its actually a cool way to collect bookmarks for resources relevant to your business. As far as being a way to aggregate news on a specific topic, Yahoo Pipes is my tool of choice. I was able to mash together a bunch of feed sources and put a filter on certain words. Very useful. The ability to make a restricted reddit is a pretty cool way for a company to waste time together on the same sites.
