The fact that England were comprehensively outplayed in the initial stages of the tournament, and then managed to &quot;win&quot; the tournament is no fault of theirs. Australia&#039;s ODI woes started around the time Andrew Symonds got injured - and I don&#039;t think that is a coincidence.

		<description>Its one of the peculiarities of the format, you can limp in to the finals and then win the thing - We did it to South Africa several years ago. IIRC they weren&#039;t all that happy about it.
